I am always interested in having new collaborators here in Santa Cruz, including PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and short and long-term visitors. Here you can find some General information about UC Santa Cruz I wrote; more information is available from the UCSC home page.

Thinking about going to graduate school?

You should consider applying to UC Santa Cruz. UC Santa Cruz is a great place where to study. There is a lot of interesting research going on in the School of Engineering, and the School itself is expanding at a fast pace, making it a very dynamic place where to be.

Applying to UCSC

Here is some information about applying to UCSC.

If you are interested in working with me specifically, you can apply to any department within the School of Engineering, as I can advise also students outside of my own department. It is slightly easier for me to arrange financial support for students that apply to the Computer Engineering department. I usually review most applications that cite, as "emphasis", either formal methods or embedded systems; if you are interested in working with me, mark one or the other (or both!) in the emphasis field, according to your specific area of interest. As a courtesy, don't send me documents in Word: it is complicated for me to read them from my mailer. The preferred formats are Postscript, PDF, and plain text. Thanks, and good luck!

Interested in coming here as a visitor?

Santa Cruz is a very nice place where to spend some time as a visitor. I am always interested in having visitors, both short-term and long-term; if you think your research interests have some intersection with mine, and you would like to spend some time doing research in a wonderful setting, please contact me.
